Woohoo… Sunday was a busy day in babyland. In Montreal, Madeline was born to Catherine and Derek. And also, little Leah Jean was born to Ashley and Ciska!! That just leaves two babies. Sarah was due on October 27th and I’m not sure when Corinna was due exactly…

I received my MMR injection on Friday. I just love it when nurses give you the play by play of a needle. She told me that it was a shot that tended to sting and told me after she stuck me that this wasn’t the part that hurt… and announced when it would hurt more. I think it would be more productive to talk to me about something else. I usually get the blood work people to tell me about themselves and their job to MAKE SURE that I am distracted!!

The Pita Pit … where we went on dates, what kept me from scurvy in university, our pride and joy, and now it’s a big multinational corporation. We were eating at The Merchant (a great new restaurant in Kingston - with lots of great beers on tap) and we saw the sign for their North American headquarters. Pretty cool.

We went to help my friend from work move last night. She is well known as “The chocolate lady”. She has a great chocolate making business and hey, we got dinner and chocolate out of the deal!! Right after, we zipped over to KGT to see Legacy Five. They are a southern gospel quartet which are amazing. The pianist and the lead were from The Cathedrals. Their bass singer was amazing!! I guess I am so used to seeing older men singing bass that it was so weird to see this young guy with such a booming voice. Doug went to play hockey after that and then had to work for eight this morning. He usually has a nap before hockey so will probably be in rough shape when gets home.

The strangest things bother me. There is a great consignment store in town for women’s clothing. It took all my nerve to take my stuff in there and was excited when I sold most of it. BUT… I hate when she looks through all your stuff and rejects some. I mean, I don’t want it anymore so why should it bother me that she doesn’t want it either? It’s funny the things she turns away and the things she keeps. Anyway, I was happy with my profit and what I found there as well!

We were talking to our nice neighbours last night and they told us how they didn’t like our neighbours on the other side (that are moving soon!!!). That surprised me as they are very nice and friendly. I guess they have tried to be friendly to them and they keep getting snubbed. At least we know it’s not just us anymore!! We’re looking forward to seeing who our new neighbours will be!

I have always had a fear of taxi’s. Don’t know why. I think it has something to do with my fear of the way other people drive. I think someone is trying to conquer my fear this year as I have to accomany my student to and from school… in t a taxi. I am learning how to keep my eyes closed!!

Oh dear, my Mom wrote today and reminded me of a friend of the family, Catherine who is also due in October. Then I received an e-mail from my friend Jenn announcing the arrival of her baby girl Marilla Sandra on October 5th!! So that is six babies in October!!

I think October is “have a baby” month. We have four friends that are due this month. Karleen is due on Monday, Corinna is due sometime in October… Sarah and Ciska are due toward the end of the month. We wish them short labours and healthy babies!!

I did presentations today to the nurses - 2 three hour sessions. I lost my voice and I’m getting worn out. But the sessions were really good - I was really impressed with the nurses’ professionalism. They were interactive, positive, and had good ideas. Or maybe I’m just such a d*mn good facilitator. Anyways… trying to relax now. Bubah.
